2010-2011 Season Wrap-Up!
On
Sunday, May 15, 2011, we presented our final concert of the season - 'Mostly Mozart' featuring local award-winning pianist
Luke Bell performing Mozart's Piano Concerto no. 15. Luke wowed the audience with his sensitive and exciting performance of, what is considered to be, Mozart's most difficult concerto. We won't be seeing Luke too often in future as he heads to the University of Ottawa this fall to study piano performance in the school's baccalaureate program.

At this recent concert, Maestro Gordon Craig announced the winner of the
Stephen Choma Award. This award is given in memory of the symphony's founder and first Music Director, and is presented to a young musician who has made a significant contribution to Quinte Symphony during the past year. We congratulate
Daphne Kennedy, from our cello section, as the 2011 recipient.
Congratulations also to this years' recipients of
The Quinte Symphony Award at two local music festivals for receiving the highest marks in orchestral strings. The Quinte Rotary Music Festival winner was
Naomi Garrett, and The Stirling Festival of Sacred Praise winner was
Maggie-Lu MacLean.
