Quinte Symphony's 2014-15 Concert Season

Celebrating Maestro Gordon Craig's 25th Anniversary year and his farewell retirement season as Music Director and Conductor



'Music of the Stars'

CENTENNIAL SECONDARY SCHOOL, BELLEVILLE

CONDUCTOR: Patrick Headley

GUEST ARTISTS: Local Quinte vocalists - tba.

This program, created by Quinte Symphony's own Patrick Headley, will feature movie music from shows such as ET and Superman, as well as the Blue Danube Waltz used as theme music for A Space Odyssey. The audience will also be serenaded with songs such as Stardust, Fly Me to the Moon and When You Wish Upon a Star.

Mr. Headley will lead this concert as Maestro Craig is not available on this date.

'A Barbershop Christmas'

GUEST ARTISTS: A Capella Quinte Men's Barbershop Chorus

Bring your singing voices and join Belleville's men's barbershop chorus, 'A Cappella Quinte', in singing yuletide favourites! The program will include the beloved Toy Symphony featuring local dignitaries and beloved selections from Handel's Messiah featuring Michael Dufault.

Remember - children (accompanied, 12 and under) always have free admission, so please bring them all along - especially to this one!
                       


'Last Night of the Proms'

Always popular with Quinte area music lovers, Quinte Symphony brings back this locally popular tradition of the 'Last Night of the Proms' with patriotic pieces from the great tradition of the annual British concert. Jeremiah Clarke's Trumpet Voluntary featuring orchestra member Doug Taylor will also be featured.

Sing along with Rule, Britannia! and other Proms favourites!




'Guitar Flavoured Classics'

GUEST ARTIST: James Lowrie, guitar

Quinte Symphony, in this farewell tribute to long-time Music Director and Conductor Gordon Craig, welcomes back home-grown classical guitar artist, James Lowrie in a program of guitar-flavoured classics as well as some of Maestro Craig's favourite music.

With Mother's Day on the following day, it would be a great weekend to treat Mom to a delightful afternoon of music surrounded by her entire family in this most special of concerts!
